On August 20th 2021 at 19:46 Napoleon Fire & Rescue responded to 1490 Glenwood Ave for a reported garage fire. Napoleon Fire and Rescue responded with Engine 811, Medic 801, Ladder 808, Chief 2, and Brush 806 with a total of 11 firefighters. Initial engine crews found a two story home with heavy fire in the attached garage with fire moving quickly into the home.  Initial crews were able to slow the spread and keep the fire contained to the garage and center portion of the home.  All residents were able to evacuate on their own prior to arrival.  The fire was brought under control in one hour and crews continued to find and extinguish hot spots.  All units were back in service at 01:14. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office.

Napoleon Fire and Rescue was assisted by Ridgeville Township Fire and Rescue, Malinta Monroe Township Fire Department, Liberty Center Fire and Rescue, Florida Flatrock Township Fire Department, Napoleon City Police Department, Napoleon City Electric Department, Napoleon City Operations Department, and The Ohio Gas Company. There were no injuries reported and there was a estimate of 12,000 gallons of water used.
